Based on the very popular cartoon “Winx Club“, Fate is the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
Creator: Brian Young
Cast: Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha
Where to Watch: Netflix
Review: Overall, Fate: The Winx Saga Season One is an entertaining escape into the Otherworld with fairies, specialists, and burned ones. However, by rejecting the aesthetic and vibe of its source material entirely for a pale imitation of other YA properties, Fate: The Winx Saga might just end up slipping through the cracks. Season 1 will not be blessed as the next teen addiction this year, mostly due to its pitfalls, but it just teases the audience enough in the second half to want a second installment.
Verdict: Worth the Home Popcorn
